Our Award-winner, aged 20 months in oak for maximum maturity and fruit potential

Our Cab Franc comes from Sonoma and Alexander Valleys, from the vineyards of Serres Ranch, Hoffman, and Burnett. We age with 30% new oak for 20 months for prime flavor, bringing out the dark berry, mocha, and cedar spice. We blend with Syrah (20%) for balance and boldness; with strong tannins and a full finish.

100% Moon Mountain, bright and delicious with the taste of the land

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is our ‘attitude’ wine, touched with a blend of bold reds that add to the confidence and strength of the varietal. It’s all-around ‘big,’ with Cabernet Franc (7%), Merlot (2%), Malvasia (2%), Petite Verdot (2%) and Zinfandel (2%) all from the legendary, breathtaking Moon Mountain Vineyards in the Mayacamas. A truly mountain-fruit blend, our Cab has the earthy, dark taste of the steeply grained soil, while maintaining a bright fruity character we love in a Sonoma Cab. The wine, then, has a great sense of place, taking in the wine and soil of the Mayacamas altitudes.

Our 2009 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes of two mountain vineyards on opposite sides of the Sonoma Valley. Small clusters and tiny berries produced this concentrated wine showcasing aromas and flavors of black currents, blueberries, and plum with plush sweet tannins.

Our 2005 “V” Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), Cabernet Franc (13%) and Merlot (11%) that show enormous flavors, complex character and aging potential. It boasts flavors of blackberry, black pepper and spice with a long delicate finish.  This wine is youthful now or can be cellared for at least 10 years.  This is also a remarkably versatile food wine.  This is a wonderful dinner-party wine — generous, convivial and a great match for hearty food, grilled meats and strong artisan chesses.  It won a Silver Medal in the 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and Wine Enthusiast gave it a rating of 92.

Merlot with a touch of Cabernet: soft, smooth and complex

We say Sonoma, California is the best place for Merlot: balance of sun and fog, warm soil but refreshing air, is ideal for the ripe, bold-skinned Merlot fruit. Our Merlot is blended with a perfect mix of its cousins, Cabernet Sauvignon (9%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) and barrel aged for 18 months to fully integrate its layers of flavor. With soft tannins and black cherry, cedar, and spice, this is all the smooth complexity we love in a Merlot.

Our 2008 Nebbiolo originates from a small vineyard in Carneros, where the climate is reminiscent of Italy's Piedmont region, the home of this noble grape. The cool, foggy mornings and moderate afternoons allow for slower ripening, adding intensity and complexity. This unique wine offers earthy aromas and flavors of raspberry, plum, cedar and spice.

A touch of France for an elegance, powerful and delicious red blend

This is Viansa’s taste of France (though we can’t deny, our California terroir shines through).  It’s a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Cabernet Franc (39%) & Merlot (8%), and aged for over two years in French oak to bring out seductive mocha, vanilla and blackberry aromas. Deep and concentrated, it’s full of firm, ripe tannins and lush plum fruit. We choose Bordeaux barrels (100% French) for their characteristic oak; our goal was to blend traditional French aging techniques with the bright flavor of California in order to create an elegant, powerful and memorable wine.  This wine also has one of the best aging potentials of our library; enjoy this wine now or cellar up to 2020.

Our smoldering, seductive, Franco-Cali blend

Our 2006 Ossidiana is a blend of the most seductively dusty reds: Cabernet Sauvingon (48%), Cabernet Franc (37%) & Merlot (15%). Aged in French oak, this wine is full of romantic aromas: coffee, vanilla and violets followed by flavors of ripe blackberry and blueberry; all deep, concentrated, and impenetrable. The firm but ripe tannins carry on through the long elegant finish. Viansa’s goal was to blend the taste of California (bright aromas, fruit-forward flavors) and age it with traditional French techniques (the best oak for several months’ time) to create a wine that is elegant, powerful and memorable..  Like the ‘05, this wine is drinking beautifully now, though it was made with the strength and complexity to cellar for the next ten years.

What we fondly call our “California Chianti,” this blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is our prized Cal-Ital: big, powerful, and three-time Gold Medalist, with layers of delicious blackberry, cherry and spice

Thalia is our bold, silky Italian Donna with enough personality to rule the family of Viansa wines. She is big and beautiful, showing loads of dark fruit: blackberries, black cherry wile berry, and dried cherry, touched and layered with decorative spice and licorice. Her long finish leave a lingering memory of a winning texture and blend. Gold Medal winner at Jerry Meads New World Competition, the 2010 Grand Harvest Awards, and the 2010 West Coast Wine Competition, not to mention her array of Silver Medals, this is a wine that can’t be easily forgotten.

Super Tuscan blend with bursting flavors of black cherry, plum, chocolate and spice

This is the epitome of Viansa’s Italian style: a blend of Sangiovese (42%), Primitivo (28%), Zinfandel (14%), Petite Verdot (12%), and Barbera (4%), that introduces Italian’s best to some of local favorites. Made in the Super Tuscan style, this is blooming with aromas of black cherry, blackberry and plum, followed by flavors of cherry, berry, briary spice, and hints of chocolate.
