About This Wine:
While American winemakers have traditionally used Cabernet Franc for blending, Europeans have always appreciated the elegance of the grape on its own.  Our 2005 "Samuele" Cabernet Franc shows why, with its rich and intense aromas of toasty oak, dried herbs and fresh crushed blackberries and flavors that turn to black cherry, plum and currants.  It has a long smooth finish that’s framed by firm yet supple tannins.  This wine pairs nicely with pate, grilled rib eye steak and roasted leg of lamb.  Although our 2005 "Samuele" Cabernet Franc is delicious now, it should continue to improve over the next 5-7 years. It received Best of Class during the 2009 Sonoma Valley Wine Competition and a rating of 90 points by Wine Enthusiast.
