Lloyd W. Davis, President - Lloyd W. Davis, President and co-owner of Viansa Winery & Marketplace, grew up in Manhattan, in a family that regularly enjoyed wine with meals. While attending Adelphi University, Lloyd's passion for fine wine grew. After graduating with a degree in finance, Lloyd entered the New York financial world where he provided capital to companies to support growth and acquisitions. He eventually became a Partner and Chief Credit Officer at Laurus/Valens Master Fund, a $2 Billion Hedge Fund. Throughout the years, his passion for wine continued to grow. He attended many wine seminars, classes and dinners to expand his knowledge and appreciation of wine and food.
While at Laurus/Valens, he made an investment in Viansa. When the opportunity arose to take control, Lloyd jumped at the chance. "Running Viansa is a dream come true," Lloyd says. He has spent the last several years overseeing all operations at Viansa, and in the process he has pruned grapevines, driven tractors, developed his “Signature Series” wines, poured wine for guests in the tasting room and even accompanied Viansa Tuscan members on a Mediterranean cruise to Italy. He is a hands-on President that can be found in the Tasting Room most days and weekends. He especially enjoys sharing Viansa's wines, foods and Tuscan charm with visitors from around the world. Lloyd is committed to maintaining Viansa’s Italian heritage, offering a broad selection of world-class wines, and focusing on exceptional customer service and treating every guest as family and sharing great wine and food with them! Our Winemaking Team is a group of seasoned industry professionals with over 30 years of experience. They have a passion and dedication for producing award-winning wines using both California and Italian varietals. Working hand-in-hand with some of the finest grape growers in Sonoma Valley and beyond, this talented team consistently turns out a wide assortment of critically acclaimed wines. During the growing season, they are active in the vineyards tending to the smallest details from pruning, to soil conditions and to water, to name a few. During harvest, they spend endless hours in the vineyard and winery to ensure that only the best quality grapes come in. Once the grapes are crushed, they make sure that the proper barrels are used (French or American) and that the juice has the perfect conditions to make phenomenal wine. Your Special Events Team has a wealth of experience and a real passion for creating memorable events. They have planned and coordinated over 500 events from weddings, corporate outings, birthday and anniversary parties, family reunions and so much more. They take real pride in what they do and pay extra special attention to detail. They treat you as family! They are great at providing ideas, helping you deal with “helpful” family members and friends, provide a comforting arm to lean on or that occasional tissue!
