The Property

Stunning view, vines and wines at the summit of Sonoma

We invite you to enjoy our collection of wines in our tasting bar, or in a private setting with a pairing experience in one of our outlooks or while touring the property. Stay and enjoy a glass of wine and picnic fare from our marketplace on the terrace, while taking in the views. Shop Sonoma inspired gifts and exciting vintage finds. We are located at the gateway of Wine Country, just 35 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Take in the views.

From our hilltop, take in 270° views of Sonoma Valley-San Pablo Bay to the south, Mayacamas Mountains to the East, and “King’s Highway” leading the way to the northernmost California mission of the El Camino Real. Our property includes 33 acres of our estate vineyards and 97 acres of natural wetlands, which serve as home to variety of indigenous water fowl.

Learn about the vines.

In 2015, we replanted our estate vineyards with 10 acres of Pinot Noir and 15 acres of Chardonnay. The varietals were specifically selected to complement our soils of Goulding clay loam and Reyes silty clay. The replanting project not only allowed us to select varietals known to thrive in the Carneros region, but also improve our vineyard management process and control water usage.

Enjoy the wines.

Offered exclusively to you from the Winery, every wine produced is an extension of your visit and an expression of Sonoma. The wines are crafted to be enjoyed alongside friends and family and to enhance your dining experience. There are a multitude of ways to enjoy Viansa Sonoma Wines on the property. We proudly produce and source grapes exclusively from Sonoma, including from our estate vineyards of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sangiovese, as well as from other prized vineyards through Sonoma County.

Conservation is more than a concept, it is a commitment.

The Wetlands

From our terrace, look down upon 97 acres of native plants, wetlands, wildlife and a precious environment that we are dedicated to preserving. Beginning in the Fall of 2014, in collaboration with Ducks Unlimited, biologists and wildlife experts, Viansa Sonoma spearheaded an effort to restore this precious habitat that is a vital and diminishing part of California’s ecosystem. The wetlands today are now returning to their former splendor and vitality. Over 500 species of birds have been sighted on our restored coastal wetlands, and as many as 1,000 waterfowl have been counted in a single day! Throughout the year we welcome canvasback ducks, great blue herons and other birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway. Viansa guests may also catch a glimpse of Canadian geese, graceful egrets, darting swallows and, perhaps, a rare tundra swan. This project is a source of great pride for everyone who works at Viansa Sonoma, and we invite you to take in the views on your next visit to see the vast diversity of life in our beautiful wetlands.
