Pair with chicken piccata; the lemony, caper-infused sauce is balanced by the Chardonnay’s bright acidity, which cuts through the richness of the butter and olive oil. The citrus notes in the wine complement the lemon in the dish, while its stone fruit and pear notes add complexity.
Our Estate Chardonnay is made of 100% fruit from our Estate Vineyard on the Viansa property, and is comprised of 78% clone 72 and 22% clone 69.
Grapes were machine-harvested and pressed, followed by a 72-hour cold settling and racking to achieve below 80 NTU solids. Fermentation in 20% new and 80% neutral oak, at 55-65°F, preserved aromatics. Partial native malolactic fermentation, weekly bâtonnage for four months, and six months of additional aging resulted in a rich, balanced wine.

Our wine labels are more than decoration—they reflect heritage, craftsmanship, and our Italian roots. Inspired by the hand-painted frescoes once featured on past bottles, in 2018 we set out to reintroduce authentic Italian artistry in a fresh, modern way. That vision led us to Maria Giannini, a sixth-generation artisan and the first woman to lead her family’s 150-year-old marbling studio, Giulio Giannini e Figlio, in Florence.
Maria’s hand-marbled papers, crafted with traditional tools and natural pigments, form the foundation of our Terra and Altura Collection labels. Each wine features a unique pattern and color palette inspired by its distinct flavor profile and story, interpreted through a close collaboration between Maria and Viansa.
