Terra Collection

2023 Pinot Noir, Sonoma County

$32

Our 2023 Terra Pinot Noir expresses itself from the first scent. Bright notes of blueberry, blackberry bramble, sweet oak, and savory herbs are lifted from the glass. The flavors show fresh black cherries, violets, and blackberries with refined tannins.

Label Artwork

Bold and bright, with a touch of richness. The same free-form and funky pattern as our Terra Collection Californian white wines, but in a new color profile to represent our red wines historically grown in Sonoma, such as Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker Notes

The grapes were hand harvested cold in the middle of the night then cold soaked in tank for 48 hours to extract color. AMH yeast was selected for fermentation, which has the ability to lift fruit and spicy aromatics. The grapes were gently warmed to 85 °F before being inoculated, and the wine was fermented on the skins for 14 days before being drained and pressed. This temperature is ideal because it allows for adequate tannin and color extraction while preserving the more delicate aromas of Pinot Noir. The wine was aged in oak – 10% new Quintessence and Damy coopers and 90% neutral French oak – for 8 months in barrel before being bottled.

Our Label Story

Behind the Marble

Our wine labels are more than decoration—they reflect heritage, craftsmanship, and our Italian roots. Inspired by the hand-painted frescoes once featured on past bottles, in 2018 we set out to reintroduce authentic Italian artistry in a fresh, modern way. That vision led us to Maria Giannini, a sixth-generation artisan and the first woman to lead her family’s 150-year-old marbling studio, Giulio Giannini e Figlio, in Florence.

Maria’s hand-marbled papers, crafted with traditional tools and natural pigments, form the foundation of our Terra and Altura Collection labels. Each wine features a unique pattern and color palette inspired by its distinct flavor profile and story, interpreted through a close collaboration between Maria and Viansa.
